Many of these marine parks and aquariums are directly or indirectly responsible for the death of thousands of the very animals they use for public entertainment.

Happy Easter - The Crucifixion of Humanities Inner Spirit

“Ye are in this world but ye are not of this world”, I am sure many people have heard this Biblical phrase, and what Jesus said “My kingdom is not of this world”, which could mean another world, and/or, which paints the picture of a world changed, hijacked, manipulated, altered. Interlopers interference in humanities path, soldiers with spears following orders, cross makers and politicians toeing the party line, war machines, hi tech drones, nuclear missiles, animal sacrifice and exploitation, iron fists and segregation. Inorganic vampire technology. Our world, our people. Our life. The truth crucified, pierced and bleeding. The men behind the curtain, feeding the facade, afraid of Toto. And, there are Toto’s out there, strangers in a strange land, playing their parts in exposing lies and revealing truths. Humanities true historical origins look like day compared to night from what has been taught, ordained, and indoctrinated, and are outright rejected as lies, told over a vast period of time, stories handed down and down and down by the faithful fearful people. Myth, fiction, half truth, truth, all balled up like yarn, to be straightened out and made sense of in these times we live in. There are those who sense the lies, see the lies coming to the surface in this time of increasing demand for transparency. Some have had a very hard time living in this cruel insane society. Almost living a double life, standing out like a sore thumb from the so called norm, not wanting to show our true heart until now, because of past life memory of being branded and burnt as heretics. But, there seems to be extra energetic support now that was not there in darker ages, a purifying wave, although the present paradigm still holds its own, in some sectors it appears weakened and crumbling, challenged and threatened. Soon it will not be business as usual. The truth is not welcome here but that does not seem to matter anymore. There is the rising vibrations of those who are moving into alignment with their true selves, universal harmony, risen, ascended, finding redemption, that counters the heavier energies, challenging in a subtle way, the controlling present paradigm. The Earth herself takes part as well in a dance with Sun, solar system, cosmos. The crucifixion is over and the true human does not have to hang on the cross forever. This Easter remember you too can arise from the lies, the dark, the bloodlust, the war. You can live as you truly were meant to be before your inner spirit was crucified and live in harmony with all life, show compassion and walk your talk, and reclaim your true heritage. You are not of this world. This world is violent and in contradiction and in competition with the natural world, mother earth, the animals, the true spirit in each human. So rise this Easter. Ascend. Live again. Be who you are, not who you were taught, cajoled and moulded to be. Be free.

'via Blog this' My story on Joan Landino's site, of how I took the road I am currently on, how I became vegan.

Robert Frost I Hear You

the road less travelled is a brave road, lonely at times, but when all is said and done, one that is remembered, in the ancient hall of records, gold incorruptible pages. the road less travelled is filled with anger, on the sidelines, abuse and mocking, fear, an ugly collective face, you must ignore, they know not what they do. the road less travelled is a good road, always remember this as you go, clearing the overgrowth, with mighty swords a flame, dropping the chains, never in vain, never in vain. the road less travelled, is a narrow road, like the camel, through the eye of the needle, you meet a lone traveller, and then others, working together, a crowd forms, your pace quickens, your heart sings. the road less travelled is destiny calling, you cannot turn away, so many in darkness depending, on an opening, a path out of blood lust, falling breaking soul essence lost. the road less travelled is a necessary road, for those who cannot bear cruelty, stupidity, and bullies, no matter how beaten down, shoes need to be filled, no matter how worn out, the road needs travellers. the road less travelled will eventually become wide, with fanfare and joy, celebration and congratulation, the prodigal ones once marooned, soon to be at the banquet table, smiling and reflecting on what they have done. the road less travelled is a road with sun, wind, rain, moonlight, stars, water for the weary, angel guides gliding in stride, lifting one up, ever by, standing strong, for the winning side.

Rise Like Lions After Slumber

Today is Robert Frost's birthday. Known as one of the great American poets, Frost published over 150 poems and won four Pulitzer Prizes. He is probably best known for "The Road Not Taken" which, culminates in the famous lines: "Two roads diverged in a wood, and I— I took the one less traveled by, And that has made all the difference" I feel I have taken the road less traveled by and that has made a great difference, with regard to going vegan. Not all the difference, as just going vegan is only part of a larger process towards wholeness. The fact that it is Robert Frosts birthday today, being a poet myself, made me think of another poet, Percy Bysshe Shelley, who fits the modern times in which we live, especially his great poem 'The Mask of Anarchy', with some of my favorite versus of any poet, “Rise like Lions after slumber -
In unvanquishable number -
Shake your chains to earth like dew - Which in sleep had fallen on you
 - Ye are many-they are few". Henry David Thoreau's 'Civil Disobedience' and Mohandas Gandhi's passive resistance were influenced and inspired by Shelley's nonviolence in protest and political action. It is known that Gandhi would often quote Shelley's Masque of Anarchy, which has been called "perhaps the first modern statement of the principle of nonviolent resistance." Bob Marley was also a big fan of Percy Bysshe Selley, and what a dinner party that would be, with him, Thoreau (another favorite of mine) Shelly and Gandhi. Shelley wrote several essays on the subject of vegetarianism, the most prominent of which were "A Vindication of Natural Diet" (1813) and "On the Vegetable System of Diet". Shelley, in heartfelt dedication to sentient beings, wrote: "If the use of animal food be, in consequence, subversive to the peace of human society, how unwarrantable is the injustice and the barbarity which is exercised toward these miserable victims. They are called into existence by human artifice that they may drag out a short and miserable existence of slavery and disease, that their bodies may be mutilated, their social feelings outraged. It were much better that a sentient being should never have existed, than that it should have existed only to endure unmitigated misery"; "Never again may blood of bird or beast/ Stain with its venomous stream a human feast,/ To the pure skies in accusation steaming"; and "It is only by softening and disguising dead flesh by culinary preparation that it is rendered susceptible of mastication or digestion, and that the sight of its bloody juices and raw horror does not excite intolerable loathing and disgust." In Queen Mab: A Philosophical Poem (1813) he wrote about the change to a vegetarian diet: "And man ... no longer now/ He slays the lamb that looks him in the face,/ And horribly devours his mangled flesh." Shelley was a strong advocate for social justice for the "lower classes". He witnessed many of the same mistreatments occurring in the domestication and slaughtering of animals, and he became a fighter for the rights of all living creatures that he saw being treated unjustly. Rise like lions after slumber now, in 2013, you are many they are few. You are not carnivores, you have been led down a path that gets darker daily, so wake up, we need the numbers, I believe in the numbers, take your power back.... walk towards your true self and don't look back.

Think Big

In this present society we uphold, we can see the impact of some sort of predatory agenda, implemented at many levels of society, based on dominance and exploitation. Some just call this economic and political ideologies and stratagies, and they are, but a much deeper current runs at the bottom of all we see in this world, a dark current, with these ecomomic and political systems just an outpictureing of this energy. This predatory impact is not healthy in the long view, as it supports entropy, death, and extinction. I see it playing out as a socio-pathic sickness in the majority of the population, ego minds, however brainwashed and manipulated, carrying out, insane abuses in this paradigm, towards the planet and her inhabitants. The emotionally traumatized, spiritually undeveloped, and chronically addicted ego, of many indoctrinated into this death and dominance agenda, are running rampant everywhere to be seen, and running the planet, the very nest they live in, into the ground. Sickness begetting sickness, violence begetting violence. A world gone mad, but groomed that way over a very long time, where the sins of the fathers that visit the children only seem to be getting worse. If this isn't insanity I don't know what is. Which begs the question, how did humanity get so sick? My answer may astound some and be considered radical but it is very logical and there are recent archaeological finds and evidence, scholarly studies of spiritual documents, such as the Gnostic Gospels of the Nag Hammadi Library discovered in 1945, that speak of an alien intruder on human evolution, which these writings call Archons. We are not alone in the universe, many educated people, including astronomer Carl Sagan, say that it is ridiculous and highly illogical to assume that we are. Hell, even the Catholic Church has jumped on board saying we are not alone, and have come to their conclusions partly, if you can believe it, based on findings with the L.U.C.I.F.E.R telescope. Imagine many races for millions of years in a vast universe teeming with life. Is it logical to assume that they all have the same philosophy? The same way of going about their business. The same prime directives. The Gnostic literature tells us these Archons are very sophisticated, so much so that they use holographic architecture and technology to simulate realities in an inorganic way, mimicking the organic original design. They use mind control. They are master impostors and imitators. They also are war mongering and believe in a domination of everything for their own survival and gain throughout the cosmos. Sounds a lot like we humans. Carlos Castaneda asked in one of his books, 'who gave us our mind, our social mores, our stupidity', our bloodlust. Humanity is evolving and if we were or still are at the level of a twelve or thirteen year old child, we could be influenced, duped, taken advantage of, moulded, by a race who views themselves as having genetic supremacy, an older developed race in the universe. A race that may view us as their possesion and property. Shakespeare said, "there are more things in heaven and earth than dreamt of in your philosophy." I would add, especially if our philosophy and 'consensus reality' has been shaped and limited along certain lines. Why is there such a mixture of types here on earth? Those who would defend the predatory killing way, the survival of the fittest, and those who believe, not in domination, but co-operation, one within the whole, not over or above, but one held within the all. Sensitive people with compassion, following Ahimsa, do no harm, and those who think it is there right to kill, harm, exploit, think that they are superior. A spiritual war, two view points, a war in the heavens and here on earth, good versus evil, violence versus peace, which has been written about by our greatest writers, made movies of, and a fight that can be seen on almost ever page of our holy books. The big prize? Soul essence, soul energy, the theft of ones very life essence and being. Converts. This is serious business. Is the prize the same for both sides? I think so, yes. There are warriors of peace, and warriors of blackness and violence. There are different flavours, philosophies. And there are those in the middle, not completely without any shred of their soul essence left, but teetering on the brink. Think big, because this is big. You would want to be on the winning side would'nt you? for more on other races and creation stories, the races the Haboo tribe call the changer, and the sky people, listen to this Cliff High podcast, very entertaining and interesting history lesson, (so are any of Robert Temple's books on the Dogon Tribe of Africa and their reports of visitors) and/or read the book about the Haboo. A Second Addition to my Revised View

People who are not vegan may be wondering why there are vegans split on issues and opinions of how to rid the world of animal exploitation, how to get the message out, that it is better for all humans if we do not participate in animal exploitation, abuse or killing of any kind. I want to explain that we all want this end goal but my approach is one of reaching the widest possible audience and planning strategies for the success of that goal, which are varied, some of which I pointed out in my last revision. I remember some of my very first posts on this blog, asking all vegetarians, animal lovers, activists behind causes other than animal rights, to join together, my thinking being, get the numbers up, hit the big corporations with the numbers, the buying power, the power of the people. I wanted these other groups of people to gather around this critical issue of the way we view animals and the way we use and abuse them in our society. I still would like to galvanize them under one banner. But, I have progressed in my knowledge of these issues and see there are many ways we must approach the problems of this mind set in our society that hurts society at large on so many levels. One approach is the economic approach. The abolitionists reject the reform of a system of animal use, that will further entrench the property status of animals, otherwise known as animal welfare. Abolitionists strive for the total elimination of all animal use. The Abolitionist Approach to Animal Rights was formulated by Professor Gary L Francione. It is very clear in its definitions and what it will support or tolerate, and the simple fact that going vegan is the ultimate ideal to reach their goal. I do not disagree with this as I am a vegan but I also want to reach out to as many people as I can who can understand how going vegan will help the world in so many ways, even if they have this as an end goal and are trying, making steps, moving in that direction, but there is a strategy which will also impact the big industries that make products out of animal suffering, hitting them where they live, in profits. I understand the fear abolitionists have regarding animal welfare, with its move towards standards that regulate the treatment of animals, in order to reduce suffering and improve health, but still continue the killing. I disagree with the abolitionists that there will be even more killing because of this. This welfare reform, especially of bigger cages, more space, would mean the meat would cost more for the people to buy, as the companies would raise their prices, and, especially in these economically hard times, many people would not be able to afford this, so there would actually be less killing and less suffering. Of course, the factory farms are just one area of animal abuse, there are so many, but it is a critical area with regard to ecology. If we ended factory farming tomorrow morning, ecological strain, and the starving of nearly one billion humans would lessen rapidly, not to mention setting these animals free. I am a realist though, and see how mentally set and rigid this society is in its belief of killing and slaughtering animals. Reducing their suffering of living in tiny cages and other ways of deplorable treatment can only be good for the animals, even if this is short term. When in pain and darkness they would welcome some relief. Awareness is being raised by many ways regarding the poor treatment of animals in factory farms, and even the efforts to keep the cameras out of these dark hell holes, raises awareness. It is a step to force governments to regulate these big corporations better, to have better conditions, which, on the contrary to what some people fear, would cost these big companies more and so with their costs going up, they would charge more for their product and, many people could not afford it, thus reducing the demand. The big companies want the animals products to be produced as cheaply as possible and this is a big part of the problem of why so many animals are kept in these hell holes for eventual slaughter. The ideal of freedom and an end to animal suffering is what all vegans want but using practical measures and psychology to our advantage to hurt the big industries any way we can so the demand is reduced is a good strategy and a move toward that end idealistic goal. It is a big problem, it needs many creative and strategic approaches.

It's hard to believe, but a 15-year-old rape survivor has been sentenced to be whipped 100 times in public! Let's put an end to this lunacy by hitting the Maldives government where it hurts: the tourism industry.

The girl's stepfather is accused of raping her for years and murdering the baby she bore. Now the court says she must be flogged for “sex outside marriage” with a man who has not even been named! President Waheed of the Maldives is already feeling global pressure on this, and we can force him to save this girl and change the law to spare other victims this cruel fate. This is how we can end the War on Women – by standing up every time an outrage like this happens.

Tourism is the big earner for the Maldives elite, including government ministers. Let's build a million-strong petition to President Waheed this week, then threaten the islands' reputation through hard-hitting ads in travel magazines and online until he steps in to save her and abolish this outrageous law. Sign now and share this with everyone to get us to a million!

Take the Meatout Pledge!

Take the Meatout Pledge!:

'via Blog this' Billions of animals are merciless tortured and slaughtered every year in the meat industry. Agriculture is a leading cause of global warming and other environmental issues. A majority of the illnesses faced in the United States stem from animal consumption. Q: What can a plant based diet do for the world? By only making small changes to your diet, you'll be sparing animals and saving the planet. To break it down simply: Pledging to eliminate animal products for 1 to 2 days a week: Spares 28 animals a year Preserves 770 square ft. of rainforest a year Saves 190,000 gallons of water a year Pledging to eliminate animal products for 3 to 4 days a week: Spares 85 animals a year Preserves 23,000 square ft. of rainforest a year Saves 578,000 gallons of water a year Pledging to eliminate animal products for 5 to 6 days a week: Spares 141 animals a year Preserves 38,000 square ft. of rainforest a year Saves 964,000 gallons of water a year Adopting a full-fledged vegan diet: Spares 200 animals a year Preserves 53,000 sq. ft. of rainforest a year Saves 1.3 million gallons of water a year

An Addition To My Revised View

All efforts are welcome in the effort to ease and eventually, as quickly as possible, erase all animal suffering on this planet. Whatever can help to reduce the suffering, raise awareness about the suffering, get a conversation going about the animal suffering. Many people are ok with killing but not torture, getting them to see the torture, will lead them to think about their view of being ok with killing. I am not talking about the big corporations and their moves in animal welfare reform, but the many people who have no idea at the level of suffering and torture that exists for the animals. That is why Paul McCartney made his statement about glass walls. And governments are now moving quickly to put laws in place to punish animal rights activists and film makers who show what is going on behind many of these walls, not just the factory hell holes, but in all areas of animal abuse. If encouragement in the direction of going vegan helps by connecting people with the suffering it is a step not to be under estimated. Humanity is moving in that direction with the oxymoron 'humane slaughter' but many still believe in slaughter. Get them up close and personal with the torture and see how they feel, see what they do. Don't just leave them hanging. People in numbers have the power to collapse these horrible torture industries and instead, put their support into business's that do not have to kill and torture, and still make money. If the move of meatless Mondays in LA can get a conversation going, a toe in the door, put a small dent in the industries that make huge profits, which would make them sweat and squirm at any perceived profit loss, then I am for that. I am for the end goal of being vegan as well and all cages flung open but I do not subscribe to fear or follow gurus, fear is limitation, and gurus have theories and developed paths for followers to follow. I look inside my heart, that is my only guru, the sovereign voice, the voice of conscience. The issue of the terrible exploitation of animals must be reached in the heart on an emotional level, not the mind, not a purely mental approach, the conscience must be awoken. Most people have one, at least 1 in 25 don't have a conscience to speak of, according to a renowned psychologist I read about, but forget that psychopathic darkness of the 1, concentrate on waking the brainwashed and programmed who do have a conscience, buried under all those lies, in great need of activation now. And that awakening will most effectively happen through the emotions. For some people it is a process breaking out of their own mental prison. We know from the mental health field that the human mind can fracture and compartmentalize, and in cases of sexual abuse in children one of the results of this is what use to be called Multiple Personality Disorder, which is now called DIS, Dissociative Identity Disorder. Minds have remarkable acrobatic ability to avoid, deny, rationalize, justify, all survival mechanisms of the ego self. But reach beyond the mind into the heart and healing can begin. We are all different and the lies that we have been born into, unless we were lucky enough to have vegan parents, are huge and need to be toppled, the foundation of their false structure broken, brick by brick. They have encouraged us to disconnect and become more desensitize. Getting people to connect emotionally with the torture is a big step and I believe just saying go vegan to them is not getting at the emotional level to wake them up and make the step to go vegan. I went vegan myself because of this shock therapy of seeing, just for 30 seconds, the deplorable torture of one animal in a factory hell hole in Gary Yourofsky's 'Best Speech Ever' video, but as it turns out, it was not the best speech ever, Philp Wollens, 'Off the Menu' was best and inspired, but it did not have the shock and gruesome pictures of Gary's speech. Reaching past all the programming and deadness inside, the brainwashing and fear, to a persons conscious self or conscience, is the way to go in my view. Sometimes big organizations get big egos and do turn people off, they get too above peoples heads and you have to go down into the trenches, into the darkness, to show people the light of their own conscience. Then you get the numbers to start collapsing the industries and hurt them where they live. Getting a conversation going instead of having a mind shut down or people acting all defensive, is a psychological move that is worth it, then they may even agree to watching a shocking video or reading a shocking article, then they may even go vegan as a next step in the process. We cannot afford to have a hard line stance or miss any steps or any ways to reach people to go vegan, there are as many ways as there are as many people. I have already seen this happen, seen this work. Botom line is freeing the animals. One way is just one way, all ways are welcome. Do not let the fears of animal welfare issues interfere with the opening of the door to peoples hearts to get them to even look at the issues. Psychology must be used as psychology, a very sick one with an agenda, has been used to brainwash and steal the hearts and minds of many people. So to you abolitionists, I know your goals are firm, and you say that your goal is, 1) the abolition of all animal use 2) offering a vegan lifestyle as the only solution. You have your definitions of ethical behaviour. I know you do not want to compromise the core purpose and believe anything less will not save animals, but we want the same thing. No exploitation in any area of animal abuse, all cage doors open, no ownership. But, I want to reach as many as possible, and reducing suffering along the way to the happy, free vegan world for all, is a good thing. So, 1) wake people up as far as their conscience goes, get to the emotional self, get them to feel and connect with the suffering, get them to think about it and act on it, see what it is to be cramped, confined, continually abused, 2) offer a vegan life choice as the most benefit to all, animals, humans, ecology, starving humans, sick humans, show them in black and white its win, win , win. Step one is necessary for those who turn off your message, go vegan, go vegan, for those who already think they are good and ethical. I must say , that in the short time I have spent in the animal advocacy movement, there is lots of disillusionment, with people saying there is only so much change you can expect, or don't waste your time on signing petitions, or I have heard animal rights activists saying people are stupid, be happy with the few you convince to go vegan. But look at the civil rights movement in the beginning , they would laugh at you early in the movement if you idealistically voiced some of your ideas about where the movement could go, like a black president of the USA for example. But, steps along the way in that movement, eg, Rosa Parks, and other moves towards the end result, had to be made to get to where we are today, it was an unfolding process. It is not for us to know the when of the freedom, 'the world is vegan if you want it' will happen, but it is for us to work at all levels , planting many and good seeds that will grow into success, as plants will have the character of what seeds you plant, if your intent is genuine and you honestly want success, the plant will reflect and be that success when it grows to fruition, but if you plant seeds of confusion, disent, cynism, or hocus pocus, fear and limitation, that is what you will get. Working with the vast untapped audience that has a minimal interest in animals issues there is great engagement, look for those who have that openness. It's not watering anything down or straying from the ultimate goal, its a more broad and wider approach. There are so many that want to live their values but the bridges must be built to reach them. Plank by plank. They are worth helping. They can be reached. Be open to that potential. We have to be realists in this endeavour and all ways to reach the ultimate goal of a vegan world are worth trying without being afraid of the path it could take. If it takes a negative path, such as more animal exploitation, as abolitionists fear with welfare reform, which is like a dirty word to them, which is hard to imagine as the animal exploitation and abuse is at an all time high, and if the animals having more room to roam is a result of reform, it is not the end of the world, change course if more abuse sets in, change tactics, keep trying, but don't expect all the people to jump to become vegan in one leap. Reduce suffering, get a conversation going, keep the end goal secure but be realistic and tactical in your approach.

A Revised View

On December 28, 2012 I wrote that welfare reform for animals was not the way to go. I was new to being a vegan, only a few weeks into it, and into educating myself and saturating myself with new information, seeing many view points and the extent of the problems regarding wide spread animal suffering. So, now I wish to revise my view. I am not an abolitionist, but it sure sounded like I was one, reading that post from December 28th. I knew they followed a man who has been an animal rights activist for a very long time and writes papers and books on ethics. I had read their views, and wrote myself that you can't be an ethical carnivore. I saw that they were very worried that choosing new welfare for animals over veganism was a concern and a fear of theirs. I even wrote that I did not want to hear about backyard chickens. But, nothing ever good comes from fear and the bottom line for me is not focusing so much on the killing of animals, but the constant torture they endure and if we can reduce that. I am not for killing at all but I think a first step in reaching people and in getting them to get to that place of no killing, is to expose the torture the animals endure, that people support with their dollar unknowingly. How can the general public all know the extent of the abuse as some abolitionists say, I am still learning myself, immersed in reading and viewing tons fo information. The oxymoron of humane suffering shows that humanity is moving in the direction of less torture, and I feel if we can get those non vegans to see the deplorable hell hole factory farm conditions, and the labs that experiment on animals, and the terrible skinning alive of animals for the clothing industry, the abuse of so many wild animals in the name of profit, if we could get people to see the torture instead of just saying, go vegan, go vegan, without that step, we would win over a lot of people and help the animals. Many people think it is ok to kill and changing that mind set will be harder than changing the idea or feeling it is ok to torture. I am in agreement with what the city of LA has proposed for meat free Mondays. Anything to crumble away at the foundations of these giant billion dollar industries which cause so much harm across the board, to animals, our ecology, the starving millions, and the many diseases humans suffer from, both physical and mental. If people buy less of these products the crumbling starts. The bricks break. The industries fall eventually. I stand on the side of ending suffering. There are many roads to Rome and all approaches are welcome in my view, to lessen, and eventually stop the suffering and have the cages flung wide open. By all means necessary, not letting fear into the equation but hope, and even compassion and understanding, for the humans who do not see the full picture, who have their reasons for denials, who would not agree to torture. They are worth reaching, they are numbers we need to collapse the greedy, torture industries, and change the 'consensus reality' and present paradigm, one built on lies. People have the power, lets remind them they can make a choice for good, for compassion, for what is right, every day, at every meal. Let them know we can build a better world with new bricks that are stronger, more true, and in harmony with nature's way and with the glue of real spiritual principles.
